Metal Ducting

Our metal duct products have been sold in New Zealand for over 20 years and are fitted in hundreds of factories all over the country.

The metal duct products are sourced from Danish company, JKF Industri, who have been a world leader in dust and fume extraction and associated products, since the 1950’s. They manufacture to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. While other products available may sometimes appear ‘cheaper’, our commitment to supply a consistently high quality product means we offer our customers a product with unrivalled longevity and performance.

Why buy OUR Duct?

Our duct is designed for long life

We only use the best quality galvanised steel with a very fine, high quality, ‘sand like’ finish which protects the duct from rust far better than the more common ‘flaked’ galvanised appearance from many of our competitors.

Our Range is consistent – saving costs later!

We hold the widest range of sizes and products in stock in New Zealand. These products are interchangeable with items sold 20 years ago and form a complete range of compatible products for a whole factory layout or a simple extension. You never have to worry about getting spares or additions for your system in the future.

Smooth Pressed Bends – less wear

The smoother the airflow in your ducting system, the faster the air will flow and the better the suction. The air and particles in extraction systems travel at around 25 metres per second or faster, (90-100 kilometres an hour). Our pressed bends being smoother, offer less resistance to the air flow, especially important in the smaller diameters. This means the smooth bends will take longer to wear out than welded segmented ones.

If they do require replacement, it’s a 2 minute job to release the clamps and insert the new bend. No cutting or welding.

Re-usability and Longevity

Once you have purchased our duct, if you move factory you can take it with you! If you move machines around, the modular nature of the product can allow for quick changes to a new duct layout. You can re-use the same items and order any additional pieces to fill the gaps. Our products, though updated, are always interchangeable with your existing system whether installed last week or last century!

Why choose a ‘MODULAR DUCTING’ System?

There are really three choices when it comes to fitting ducting: Spiral, Welded or Modular.

  • Spiral Ducting comes in longer lengths and can be sensible for long runs of one size that will never change. However, the larger size means extra costs/handling issues and delivery costs to site. In terms of efficiency, there may be issues of leakage at seams or water ingress if sited outside. Any alterations require welding and cutting.
  • Welded Ducting has the attraction of being available locally and if you are never going to change the layout, can be attractive. However, the segmented bends associated with this method don’t provide the smoother airflow of the pressed bends and they wear out quicker. It is less convenient to change things around a year later if a new machine arrives. Your ducting has all been welded! It will take longer and be more expensive to change it.
  • Modular Ducting initially can look more expensive. However, this isn’t the case if you cost everything involved in fitting your system or extension.

MODULAR Ducting Systems save you money by:

  • The ease and flexibility of delivery. It can be packed into a box and delivered overnight.
  • The ease of fitting, adjusting and in the future, changing your layout. It’s like a child’s train set. There are straights, bends, branches, connectors, all very simple to put up, connect, change around, adjust and it’s this flexibility that gives the true savings of the product.
